Responding to the Bunker Boys Letter to Ms. Griner.

Updated: Nov 12, 2023

Dear Bunker Boys,

I hope that this letter finds y’all in good health, as I understand that y’all are quite elderly. I am a 25 year old man from Oregon, you may call me Gabriel. I write you today because I recently read the letter your organization had written to a Ms. Griner. I couldn’t help but feel that said letter is at best willful ignorance and at worst intentional propaganda.

The letter begins with the premise that y’all had no choice in being drafted, this claim is not true and is insulting to the intelligence and historical accuracy of our nation. The choice to leave after being drafted was made out of fear, fear of public opinion. Is a lack of understanding that y’all could have organized as to protect your right to refuse to be drafted, had the courage to do so been prevalent, truly failed to be recognized by y’all? The cowardly choice to serve a corrupt tyrannically oppressive government was made by all of you, you had options and you made your choices.

The actions you are all responsible for have directly condoned, encouraged, and perpetuate a government that is responsible for evils like MKultra and project paper clip. The limit of these evils is unknown because of the services provide them by your actions. How dare you call yourselves purveyors of freedom when your services amounted only to help such vile evils gain a better grasp over us?

Having no college is a direct result of y’all’s failure to organize as to protect the rights of innocent people like yourselves. The people of the United States did not draft y’all, a corrupt tyrannically oppressive government drafted y’all and y’all made the choice to be drafted. Made the choice to go rather than stand up, organize, and defend the rights of innocent people not to be sent to death for a government that does not have their best interests at heart. A corrupt tyrannically oppressive government fooled y’all into doing it’s dirty work under the guise of patriotism. Y’all have been made to foolishly believe the lies they’ve force fed. And now y’all expect the following generations to do the same, disgraceful. Just absolutely disgraceful.

By no means did any of you fight for God, family, country, nor the national anthem. Perhaps arguably y’all fought for the flag as it has not represented the original founding views of our country for decades. Our flag has lost all symbolism of freedom as it represents a government that is running rampant dictating law that effects our lives, our liberty, and our pursuit of happiness without our consent.

Such delusional thinking was easily impressed upon y’all’s young minds for your elders failed to protect y’all, failed to educate y’all, just failed y’all in general. Just as my elders, y’all, are failing me now. We cannot allow this cycle of failure to continue. We have recognized our duty to the following generations of protecting, educating and making their lives easier than ours. The following generations are absolutely entitled to such. I shan’t fail as y’all have.

Belief that the national anthem is a reminder to all veterans of all the men and women, our brothers and sisters, our friends and family, whom fought and died so that others may have their freedom to not have their lives, their liberty, and their pursuit of happiness effected without their consent is doublethink. As the current American governments are actively dictating law that effects our lives, our liberty, and our pursuit of happiness without our consent how have these men and women not died in vain? I cannot help but feel that y’all, as well as the vast majority of Americans, do not understand what human rights are and what freedom truly means.

You all believe so whole heartily in the national anthem but fail to fully comprehend its meaning, ‘tis appalling how prevalent this doublethink is. The national anthem is about honoring men and women who choose to fight and die to protect their rights, and the rights of others, from a tyrannically oppressive government. The very thing y’all failed to do by allowing yourselves to be drafted by a corrupt tyrannically oppressive regime. The very thing y’all failed to do during the time you’d served a corrupt tyrannically oppressive regime. The very thing that y’all fail to do to this day. The very thing y’all fail to do by advocating that the Russians government is not in the wrong for violating Ms. Griner’s right to travel with her personal property. What exactly did Ms. Griner do wrong?

Please do not understand human rights and freedom to such a small degree that you’d choose to actively condemn Ms. Griner publicly for exercising her human rights. As we have the right to travel with our personal property any government attempting to make laws that restrict such behavior would be being tyrannically oppressive of our God given rights. You claim to have fought for the rights of others and yet you condemn one when they exercise their rights? You condemn them for expecting the people who claim to fight for her rights to do so? Or have y’all forgotten that human rights aren’t locational? They exist for everyone everywhere, the Russian government should be held accountable for violating Ms. Griner’s rights. Why are y’all standing up for a tyrannically oppressive government when you claim to fight against such?

You claim to have fought so that Americans can make their own choices. This is delusional thinking as my life, my liberty, and my pursuit of happiness is being effected without my consent to such a point that if I exercise my right to travel with my property I can be persecuted for it by the very people claiming to have fought for my right to do so. Not only in Russian but here in America.

Stop this foolishness at once as the time has come for us to actually fight and die for our rights. Be the men y’all claim to be and begin organizing as to form new governments that have our best interests at heart as the current ones are corrupt and tyrannically oppressive. Why do you believe that the fight for our rights is over?

Sincerely,

Gabriel of the family Privett

Dear Ms. Griner,

We hope this letter finds you in good health and we understand you are having some rough times in your life.

We are a group of old Vietnam Combat Veterans from North Carolina.

Our average age is around seventy years old. We call ourselves, The Bunker Boys. We spent a lot of time living in rat and snake infested holes in the ground known as Bunkers.

When we were not in the bunkers, we were crawling through the jungle being shot at and shooting back at little people wearing black pajamas.

We must be honest and tell you that the only thing we may have in common with you, is that we too, were drafted.

We noticed you were drafted number one in the WNBA draft a few years ago.

Since we all were drafted, we thought we might let you know what it was like when we were drafted. Unlike you, most of us had no college. The people of the United States drafted us. We consisted of all colors, religions and personal beliefs. We had no choice of which team we played for, Army, Navy, Air Force or Marines.

We were sent halfway around the world to fight and kill people we didn’t know in a place we had never heard of. We were paid, we know you can relate to this, $3.00 a day and required to work 24 hours a day if needed. When we returned home many or most of us were treated very badly by our fellow Americans. We were spit on, hit by bottles and rocks as the police stood by and watched. We did not complain, we just continued on in life and made the best of it.

We fought for God, family, country and of course, the Flag and the National Anthem; a poem that was written by, of all people, a lawyer.

He wrote the poem as he watched bombs fall on and kill fellow Americans.

Ever since that night, our nation has played that little poem before millions of social functions.

For some people it’s just a little song. For a Veteran it is a reminder of how many men and women of all colors, have given their life so the rest can have the right to be free.

We found in our research that you requested the National Anthem not be played at sporting events. We find it odd that now you are requesting the citizens of the United States to pay for your release from a jail in Russia.

Yes, we the taxpayers are paying for all of those diplomats working on your release.

Our government told you, and all fellow Americans in Russia, to leave Russia after the invasion of the Ukraine. You play basketball in a country that is known to treat Americans badly.

You fly a great deal and must know by now, all the rules of what one can bring into a country. All of us that travel know the rules for entering a foreign country. You are a guest and must go by the rules of the land.

By your own admission, you were attempting to bring an illegal substance into a country that is known for its long prison sentences. You had to know this because you are making a million dollars a year to play a game and hold a college degree.

At six feet nine inches tall, you know that security officers are going to focus on you from the moment you stand in the boarding pass line.

We also noticed that you are now saying you placed the drugs in your luggage by accident. Please, that is something an 18-year-old would say. We also found out that your net worth is somewhere around $ 5 million bucks for playing a game.

For old guys like us, living on a fixed income, that’s a lot of money for just playing a game. Don’t get us wrong; we are not against you. We all went and fought so all Americans can have the freedom to make their own choices.

We just hope the next time you have to endure the playing of that little poem, you will pay close attention to the “Land of the free,” part.

Wishing you the very best, The Bunker Boys
