Shadows of Righteous Strife

Born with sight, yet adults are blind.

Born with a spirit to fight, yet rebels one cannot find.

Born craving the light, but taught to stumble through darkness in kind.

Living righteously deemed a crime.

Thoughts for unity confined.

The rich legally compel the poor to compete over a dime.

Freedom and liberty redefined.

Justice, nothing more than a mime.

To stroll alone or march in madness.

To refuse to condone or wear the mask of happiness.

These are the choices I've known.
